Sometimes I feel as if my favorite music comes in super short bursts of energy, especially when it comes to pop music. And that is something Lansing, Michigan's Kind Of Like Paris does exceptionally well. Short bursts of breezy, jangle/noise pop that is a cross between stuff like Lync, Light Sleepers and Juniper. A more obscure take on the tried and true noise pop genre as it takes more cues for the indie underground of the 90s Pacific Northwest than it does the C-86 route which seems to be all the rage these days-which is good but it is refreshing to hear a project like Kind Of Like Paris that approaches pop song form from a completely different angle. Kind of Like Paris on this cassette delivers 3 short tracks that will be replayed and replayed. And with each play through a new nuance will stick out, revealing that a great deal occurs during the short duration of these tracks. This cassette is limited to 50 clear home dubbed cassettes with hand stamped labels and numbered black & white j-cards.
