about

It seems like every single Dude Japan release takes forever to come out which I think is probably a bi-product of eagerness more than anything. Since our "Simple Living" ep came out this past spring we have been eager to release our first full length and finally here it is. Unlike our previous material where it was just to write songs that we wanted to hear and play with "The Things That Matter..." we consciously tried to put together a album where there was a flow and every song's relationship to one another made sense. We couldn't be prouder, we feel we have created a varied album beginning to end. Fear not indie rock fans; Dude Japan have not gone prog or anything like that. The same buzzing guitar, catchy Superchunk meets Velocity Girl meets Further meets Built to Spill indie pop rock is still there but with a bit more variety. We think you'll enjoy it. "The Things That Matter..." features artwork by Book Store bassist Jonathan Kaplan who previous did the artwork for the "Teenage Summer EP". This is a limited cd pressing of 200 copies and all CDS come packaged in a jewel case with full color artwork and a tray card.
