This has been a split that I feel even though really came together in a few months in reality was a couple of years in the making. For some reason I felt when I started corresponding with D Alffred Lyons (Monogamy) that our two projects would do a split release at some point. We have had such a mutual respect for each other's projects that it just made sense. On my side, my Stars Are Insane project offers two songs that focus on building ambient sounds underneath layers of minimal guitar melodies, warm synth drones, and volume swells. If you enjoyed the Stars Are Insane entry in the Singles Club Cassette Series last year then you will certainly enjoy this side of the split. On the flip side Monogamy gets things started with a fuzzy guitar, low end heavy post punk romp which eventually explodes and crawls into a loose, lounge piano crooner before culminating with a power violence/electronics skronk fest. Monogamy's three tracks continue in the tradition of what I love about this project-you never know what you are going to get! This home dubbed cassette is limited to an edition of 50 with full color, numbered j-cards and hand stamped labels.
