This record represents many things for me. Firstly, the songs I have contributed to this record under my prolific Stars Are Insane moniker were written as a tribute to my dear friend Jason Rosenthal who recently passed away and left this earth far too early. Secondly, this serves as a document of the friendship I have with my buddy Manny who is the wonderful mind responsible for the brilliant Morgue Toad. Furthermore this split record between Stars Are Insane and Morgue Toad, to me represents not only my friendship with him but my continued relationship with the many great talented individuals I have met from the Los Angeles DIY/lo fi/ambient/indie scene. For those who have been following my Stars Are Insane project know full well that I never stay in specific place sonically, and with these songs I offer one striped down acoustic tune that was recorded in my bath room and the other is a short ambient folk/collage style instrumental. And on the flip side Morgue Toad offers two raw tunes of isolated bedroom lo-fi folk that reminds of stuff like Paste and stuff that could've easily been on the Union Pole label in the 90s. This lathe cut record has been cut by 2208 Records and is limited to an edition of 20 copies and is packaged in a full color fold over cover with a double sided insert, and a download code.
