This one caught me by complete surprise and that is perhaps why I enjoy so much. And it doesn't hurt that Bare Pale writes infectious, fuzzy noise pop melodies that get stuck in your head instantly. Based out of London the trio of Bare Pale plays a hybrid of reverb soaked shoegaze and wonky lo fi indie rock, that reminds me of a cross between Swirlies, "Isn't Anything" era My Bloody Valentine, Blaise Pascal, Sammy and Teenage Fanclub. "If It Is" offers up six tracks of undeniably pure noise pop bliss and it reminds of the one cassette that I would listen to over and over again in my walkman because it was so damn good. After listening to "If It Is" you will not only find yourself listening to it over and over again but you will want more from Bare Pale. And seeing that this is just the beginning, hopefully they will answer that call.
"If It Is" is limited to an edition of 100 pro duped/imprinted cassettes with full color j-cards.
