It is hard to imagine that something so cohesive and full sounding as Hiders is the result of one damn fine song writer, James Morgan. Under the name of Hiders, Morgan pens hypnotic, driving indie rock churners that reminds of a cross between the clanging, dissonant guitars of Sonic Youth, Polvo mixed with the pop song sensibilities of "Frosting on the Beater" era Posies, all anchored by hushed, melancholy vocals. At times Hiders tends to focus on repetitious melodic grooves rather than cramming tons of changes, notes and parts , so in this sense there is a bit of Lungfish. Anyway you slice it Morgan knows how to write songs that are strong melodically yet does so in a way that is a bit more sonically unique than what is commonly associated with pop music. Hiders is a perfect balance of noise, rock and pop. "Hiders" is limited to an edition of 50 home dubbed (in real time) cassettes with ful color, numbered j-cards.
